Lafayette Anticipations

For Paris Design Week, Design Space AlUla and hall.haus took over Lafayette Anticipations to present work from AlUla’s design residency programme, reinterpreted with French craftsmen. The exhibition was co-curated by Emily Marant and Arnaud Morand. Leo Orta worked with Fonderies Fusion to translate his Peculiar Erosions bench from adobe into cast metal. Leen Ajlan and marquetry artist Anna Farouch created a marquetry chess game for Takki. Hall Haus reupholstered Haus Dari, their 30 m² sofa, in fabrics by Maison Lelièvre.
The scenography spread across the building as a progression from object to experience: these pieces on the ground floor, Hall Haus’s sound and light installation SEEING SOUNDS above, and the One 4 All collaboration with Jean-Charles de Castelbajac on the fourth floor. Talks on the residency closed with the announcement of its next programme.
