The studio
Studio Marant offers cultural strategy and curation for design-led projects. With over a decade of experience, the studio has worked with institutions, brands, designers and fairs across the Americas, the Middle East, Africa and Europe. Its practice spans curation, project direction, cultural collaborations, residencies and artistic programmes, supported by a trusted network of professionals and collaborators across disciplines and geographies.
The Practice
We believe design is a cultural force. Each project is an invitation to articulate identities and create resonance between artistic practices. We support designers exploring new ways of making and collaborating, and we are drawn to approaches rooted in local contexts, artisanal knowledge and material intelligence. Our work is shaped by research, intuition and a deep respect for the cultural and material histories that inform every project.
The Team
Before starting her career as an independent consultant, Emily worked in museums, notably as a project manager at MAMO, the art centre at the Cité Radieuse in Marseille. She also worked in the image and commercial departments of luxury houses such as Le19M and in retail development for a start-up.
Emily’s journey with emerging artists and designers began in 2015, when she launched Studio Marant, an ecosystem for creating singular, tailored and embodied projects. In 2019, she joined forces with Hugo Matha to found French Cliché, a functional art gallery and publisher based in Paris and New York. Specialising in extremely limited-edition furniture and objects, the gallery reflects Emily’s commitment to craftsmanship: she guides artists in their collaborations with artisans to create high-end collectible design pieces.
