AlUla Design Exibitions and Programmes

Presented during Milan Design Week in April 2024, the exhibition brought together the first Madrasat Addeera Editions and projects from the inaugural AlUla Design Residency, featuring Leo Orta, Studio Raw Material, Hall Haus, Leen Ajlan and Bahraini-Danish. The presentation was conceived as a platform for both the finished works and the research behind them. Scenography by Sabine Marcelis and Paul Cournet / CLOUD. The initiative was led by Nora Aldabal, Executive Director of Arts and Creative Industries at the Royal Commission for AlUla, with Sara Ghani, Curator of Design Space AlUla.

In September 2024, the residency projects continued their international journey at Hall Haus Design Days, presented at Lafayette Anticipations during Paris Design Week. In collaboration with Hall Haus, Design Space AlUla presented works by the collective alongside Leen Ajlan and Leo Orta, together with a programme of conversations exploring research, craftsmanship and design practice. The wider Hall Haus programme also featured the collective’s collaborations with Matéo Garcia Studio, LE Club Sandwich Studio and Jean-Charles de Castelbajac.

In 2025, presented by AFALULA in partnership with Design Miami.Paris, From the Land Up: Designing AlUla from Desert Line to Human Scale brought together Arnaud Morand, Lina Ghotmeh, and Studio Raw Material’s Dushyant Bansal and Priyanka Sharma for a conversation moderated by Beatrice Galilée. The discussion explored how design, architecture and material research can shape AlUla’s transformation, from the scale of its vast landscape to the human experience of its future spaces and communities.
